The Pomegranate Post was created to help Jewish children experience more joy, connection, curiosity, and belonging.
Through handcrafted mail, stickers, activities, art, stories, and opportunities to connect with others, the club gives children tangible ways to explore Jewish life and make it their own.
The goal is simple:
No Jewish child should feel Jewish alone.
Jewish life belongs to every Jewish child
A child should not have to live near a large Jewish community to feel connected to the Jewish people.
Jewish life can take root anywhere. It can grow through a song, a story, a Hebrew word, a family recipe, a holiday tradition, an act of kindness, or a colorful envelope arriving with the child’s own name on it.
The Pomegranate Post helps bring those moments into children’s homes.
Every mailing is created to remind children:
- You belong to the Jewish people.
- Being Jewish is joyful and special.
- Jewish life is yours to explore and celebrate.
- There is always more for you to discover.
- You can create connection wherever you are.

Connection through small, meaningful moments
Jewish connection is not limited to formal learning.
It can happen when a child:
- Sends someone a Rosh Hashanah greeting
- Calls a loved one to say Shabbat Shalom
- Hangs a piece of Jewish art in their room
- Learns the meaning of a Hebrew word
- Shares a sticker with a friend
- Practices a mitzvah through an everyday action
- Makes a Jewish recipe with someone they love
- Asks a new question around the family table
These moments may be small, but together they help Jewish life feel personal, joyful, and present.
Created for many kinds of Jewish families
Jewish families live in big cities, small towns, and places without an established Jewish community.
Some children attend Jewish schools or synagogues. Others may be the only Jewish child in their classroom or neighborhood. Some belong to interfaith, multicultural, less traditional, or geographically isolated families.
There is no single way a Jewish family looks or experiences Jewish life.
The Pomegranate Post creates accessible opportunities for children to discover Jewish traditions, values, creativity, and joy without assuming that they already have extensive knowledge or a nearby Jewish community.
Made with care and meant to be shared
Pomegranate Post mailings are created in small batches and assembled by hand.
Each envelope is designed to give children something tangible to open, touch, create, display, and share. Even the activities delivered by email are intended to be printed and enjoyed away from a screen.
The handcrafted format is part of the experience, but the heart of the club is Jewish connection.
Every item is chosen with a larger question in mind:
Will this help a Jewish child feel more connected, celebrated, and at home in their Jewish story?
A note from Sarah
I grew up Jewish in South Dakota, where there was only one synagogue in the entire state. For many of the people around me, I was the first Jewish person they had ever met.
I understood from a young age what it felt like to be Jewish while living far from a larger Jewish community.
As an adult, I earned a degree in Jewish studies and continued with postgraduate study in Israel. Today, I am the mom of four beautiful Jewish children.
The Pomegranate Post brings all of these parts of my life together: the child who longed to feel connected, the student who wanted to understand Jewish life more deeply, and the mother who wants her children to experience Judaism as something joyful, meaningful, and entirely their own.
When I create something for the club, I think about what it would have meant to receive an envelope like this as a child. I imagine opening mail addressed especially to me, discovering something new about Jewish life, and being reminded that I was part of a much larger story.
That is what I hope The Pomegranate Post gives every child who joins us.
Warmly,
Sarah
